Roofline 1920 is located in Lin, Albania.

This lakeside villa, originally built in 1920, has been thoughtfully preserved and reimagined as a charming guesthouse. The architectural character embraces a vernacular Mediterranean style, with influences from Balkan stone craftsmanship and Southern European detailing.

Locally sourced white limestone defines the façade, contrasted with horizontal timber bands that enhance the layering of the structure. Pale blue wooden shutters and hand-forged wrought iron railings give the house a romantic, almost cinematic quality. Terracotta roof tiles and natural wood cladding on the upper floor complement the overall warm palette.

A key architectural intervention was the reworking of the pitched roof, designed to both respect the original volume and subtly improve spatial functionality for the upper rooms. Lush greenery, climbing vines, and an abundance of clay pots soften the stone façade, blending the villa seamlessly with the surrounding natural landscape.

The result is a timeless composition, one that quietly celebrates place, memory, and material honesty.
